About Ovarian Cancer
We are proud to announce that 100% of ticket sales go to Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) to fund ovarian cancer research. OCC is the only National Charity in Canada dedicated solely to overcoming Ovarian Cancer.
Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women's cancer. No screening test has been found and the majority of women are diagnosed in the late stages where the chance of surviving five years is between 20-30%. Ovarian cancer symptoms are varied and can mimic many other ailments so they can be difficult to detect in the early stages. The good news is that by funding research into early detection, the survival rates for women diagnosed with this disease can be significantly improved. When detected early, 90% of women survive.
The cause of ovarian cancer is unknown. Currently ovarian cancer occurs more often in women living in developed countries, but there are likely many contributing factors. With no early detection test currently available the best weapon against ovarian cancer is knowledge.

The Knowledge is Power awareness program
Ovarian Cancer: Knowledge is Power is an education and awareness program designed to help effectively spread the word about the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.
The Knowledge is Power program is a free presentation which can be tailored to fit any time slot and is delivered by a staff member or by one of their trained volunteers. It can be presented in a variety of venues including community centres, the workplace, places of worship, etc.
